End of the Season

Well the disc dog season came to a close earlier this month with the USDDN World Finals held in Cartersville, GA. It has been exactly one year since dad and I started competing in the disc dog sport and boy have we come a long way. Dad was proud of me that this year we qualified to compete against the best in the world in the Super Pro Toss and Fetch event. D's did not qualify but was able to compete in the Intermediate division of Toss and Fetch. We were worried about the weather at first but everything worked out well with light showers on Saturday and perfect weather on Sunday. Some friends even came out to watch and have a good time.

Craig found time away from newborn baby Noah to come watch.

D's and Papers cheesing.

Dad's friend Andy Wong joined the festivities.

Our good friends Jac and Roxy won the Intermediate freestyle division. She's a cutie!

Now this was interesting. We got an opportunity to show our hearding instincts. I did better than brother but my barking while brother had his turn was probably a distraction.

Brother's turn.
No ducks were harmed in the making of these photos.
In the end, I finished 18th out of 40 teams. Not bad but dad was disappointed he didn't throw better. What can you say though, this was our first year, not too shabby. Brother had a great round of toss and fetch but we do not know what place he finished. It was not top 15 though or he would have went 2 times. Now dad plans to get me ready for next season and the freestyle event. We tried that once in Columbus, GA but I did not want to cooperate and drop the frisbee. I should have it down though by next season. Brother will continue to improve his toss and fetch skills. If you want to see a video of my first round of Toss & Fetch, click the link below. Our friend Jac took our video. Till next time.
