The Dogs

SHADE
Shade is a male blue merle Australian Shepherd born 11/10/07 in Jackson, GA.  I had been searching for a blue merle male for a few months when I came across an ad in the local paper.  After contacting the breeder, she sent us a picture and we decided to take a look at him the next day.  I must say, in the picture, he was a bit odd looking and I wondered whether or not I would like him.  The breeder was located out in the country and when we arrived, some of the litter had wondered into the back yard.  Once we saw him, there was no more questions, he was perfect.  This little 7 week old ball of fluff was ours and we've enjoyed every moment since that date.  He is a high energy dog that commands much attention.  Shade has passed his CGC Obedience Test, trains in agility, and competes in disc dog sports.

Meaning behind the name:
Shade is named after a dog my family had growing up named Shadow.  He was an incredible male Keeshond who lived to be 14 yrs old.  His memory will be etched in my heart forever.

DENVER
Denver is a male sable blue merle Australian Shepherd that we have given a birth date of 5/16/07.  We had our first Aussie (Shade) for about a year and we decided it was time for him to have a four legged companion.  I did some online research and found a great Australian Shepherd Rescue group in GA that were frequently placing Aussies in new homes.  I contacted one of the group directors and told her I was looking for a dog to be a companion to Shade and possibly also compete in disc dog.  One Thursday afternoon I saw a remarkable male in the shelter section of the rescue site.  Because he was at a shelter, he had a death row date of the following Monday.  I thought to myself, I am going to contact this shelter if he is still there on Sunday.  Well Sunday came around and the dog was gone.  I thought, good he has been rescued.  Come to find out, the rescue group took him out of the shelter and contacted me the following day because he showed good frisbee drive.  I went to see him a few days later and after another visit with Shade, he was ours.  Denver has such a mellow energy level indoors but has some serious drive outside.  Him and Shade are now inseparable.  Denver has passed his CGC Obedience Test, competes in disc dog sports, and is a pet therapy dog with Happy Tails Pet Organization in GA.

Meaning behind the name:
Denver is quite simply named after my place of birth and favorite NFL team.
